Wine Notebook, Part 34 (December 22, 2007)    by the Wine Baron

Snowy day, lots of Christmas shoppers on the streets. Feelings of anticipation of celebrating with family.  Ah, it feels good. Decided to stop in at the Ancaster Old Mill at the end of the day for a nice Scotch. Wine Steward Don gave me something special.

The Arran Malt -

A single malt scotch is always a brilliant way to relax at the end of a day. I liked this limited edition which had hand written notes of when it was distilled, cask number, etc.  Aromas of vanilla lead to tropical fruit and melon. A hint of dark chocolate. Flavors of citrus, cinnamon, smooth texture, yet with quite a kick. Light oak notes as well. The finish is powerful.
