Blog Note 58 (January 11, 2009)    by the Wine Baron

In the midst of a snow storm, we are trying to make the 40 minute drive to Pillar and Post in Niagara-on-the-Lake for a weekend nibble. We really like the place. But the swirling snow gets heavier and the roads get worse. For safety's sake, we decide to call a couple of closer venues from the car. Great, Vineland Estates Winery restaurant has an opening. We slip slide on over there and settle in.

The venue has a pleasant and comfortable feel to it. On a less snowy day, the view would be fantastic. The five of us also enjoy the service. But we can't get over how small the portions are and the size of the bill (the opposite of the portions). Would we go back? Maybe just for a glass of wine in the summer. Don't want to spend that much too often!
