I
went for lunch at Superior Restaurant in Toronto today.
It has a cozy bygone era feel to it with the exposed
wood beams and old red brick. The wine list is
excellent. They keep winning Wine Spectator's awards
every year for their list. The food is hearty and
reasonably priced. I was very pleased. The restaurant is
located on Yonge Street between Queen and Dundas
streets. It's just around the corner from Massey Hall
theatre. I'll go back anytime. This one's a keeper!
My "by-the-glass"
wine choice: Palatine Hills
Gewürztraminer Proprietor's Reserve VQA 2006
This semi-dry wine
is elegant, and balanced. It lacks the overboard perfume nose that many
of Ontario's Gewurz's have. Crisp, refreshing and complex. Just a
charming and easy-drinking white wine. Proprietor Tom knows how to pick
'em.
