Ah, it's nice to go to the theatre. The Baroness and I
joined Ashley, Andrew and Sabrina at the front door of
the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto and waltzed to
our seats. Our expectations were high, yet this
production actually exceeded them. Everything was
beautiful and magical. The voices, performances, set
design and even the set changes were pure excellence. As
was the audience, I was wowed by the rich and powerful
voice of The Mother Abbess, played by Jayne Lewis. The
role of Maria (I met the real Maria many years ago) was
interpreted with excellence by Elicia MacKenzie.
As for a beverage, we
opted for beer during the intermission. What better beer than a Gösser
for an Austrian occasion like this? It worked perfectly.
