Weekend in Prince Edward County, Norman Hardie Pinot Noir

We went to Rosehaven cottage in The County this weekend. The weather was Spring-like. Bit of sun, bit of rain, but overall pleasant with seasonable temperatures. The County is a charming and relaxing place to visit. We dined in Portobello's restaurant on Main Street Friday evening. The food was superb. We enjoyed their homemade hamburgers, secret recipe. It's a white table cloth place with nice upscale meals, but even the burger was great (and affordable).

The most memorable wine was by Norman Hardie. His County Pinot Noir 2007 is well balanced, elegant and rife with finesse. The tannins are in their place, just right. All the notable elements of a Burgundy but wow, it's from Prince Edward County. Very nice job, Norman (who is a charming and engaging person to talk to).

Hey I liked the Norman Hardie too. I think he kinda puts PEC on the map, personally.
