GETTING TO KNOW WINE. WHERE DO I BEGIN?

Pinot Noir

(cherries, raspberries and smoke)

The premier red-wine grape of the Burgundy region of France. It produces a red wine that is light in color compared to other reds. Also grown in cooler regions of North America. Excellent Pinot Noir is coming out of Oregon and Ontario. Characteristics: cherry, mint and berries, such as raspberry or strawberry.

Tip: Remember, pinot noir is the name of the grape variety. When it is made into wine it is known as a varietalal.

It originates in Burgundy & is now produced in many New World wine regions...
